Bodie After Dark Part 2
Back at the school we stopped and took several photos. Lisa and Tom collected EVP but strangely, no children's voices were recorded. In the photo at left there are several orbs around the cameraman as he prepares to shoot footage in front of the school.

Satisfied that we weren't going to hear anything else at the school, we wandered the dirt streets of what had been the wild town of Bodie. No one spoke. Our thoughts were on another time long ago; a time when gunfighters ruled these streets.

We stopped at the Cain House (photo right) which is said to be Bodie's most haunted, and listened to the plaintive howling of coyotes as they foraged in the nearby hills. Our investigation is almost complete. Before leaving Bodie, we wanted to visit the graves of Rosa Mae and little Evelyn. Rosa Mae lies buried outside the fence, in the outcast section of the cemetery and Evelyn (The Angel of Bodie,) lies several yards away. The ghostly little Evelyn is most often seen in the cemetery and in the town, Rosa Mae's apparition has been seen in the cemetery.

As we made our way to the cemetery we again heard unexplained sounds; The sounds of sawing and hammering followed us up the dirt road. It was late, and it was Bodie cold. No one was doing any carpentry here, no one of this world anyway. Perhaps the sounds had drifted in from somewhere in the distance....Perhaps.

Little Evelyn did not make an appearance on this night. Neither did Rosa Mae or the ghostly man who is said to wander through the cemetery. Still it was a wonderful, one of a kind experience. To read more about the Ghostly Little Evelyn of Bodie click here.
