True love is like ghosts, which everybody talks about and few have seen...Francois Duc de La Rochefoucauld

Goldfield Hotel Investigation continued
As the sun sets we enter the building..The director is not satisfied. "CUT!" Everyone stops... We gather on the steps once more. On the director's command we enter enmasse. This is not a good entrance either...It's been a long day; tempers are short. Someone snaps, "I'm a ghost investigator not an actor!" The director ignores the comment. Finally after four tries, we get it right and enter the darkened Goldfield Hotel.
The place is creepy and dusty and dirty, and oh my...There's a distinct feeling of something all around us..The heaviness I've noticed in other haunted buildings is evident here in the Goldfield. Others are aware and comment on it as well. In a scientific investigation we should not rely solely on feelings. And yet...As I walk to the corner of one of the downstairs rooms I feel a strong downward pressure on my head. A feeling of being compressed comes over me. I move from the corner and attempt to take a photograph. My camera will not work. Meter readings are high in this area. Not only do the cameras fail, but our flashlights dim intermittently and Bill's watch gives strange, sporadic readings on its barometer. Throughout the investigation, equipment fails, including that of the film crew. It is said that animals are more sensitive than humans. Could this be the reason that Ripley doesn't want to be in the Goldfield Hotel. When she is taken upstairs with us, she becomes very agitated and frightened, and refuses to enter one of the rooms. No amount of coaxing can get her to go into certain rooms of the hotel. Ripley is not being a primadonna, only cautious. One of our investigators is terribly startled and breaks down crying in this same room. See what Ripley, Mike and Cat have to say about the Goldfield Hotel investigation at Ripley's Ghost Towns

Update! A new owner has taken possession of the Goldfield Hotel since this investigation was conducted. Hopefully it will be reopened one day.

Conclusion. Is the place haunted? Absolutely! Some researchers believe that the Goldfield Hotel is one of 7 portals to the other world. While I question the story of the ghostly murdered prostitute and her child, I believe that there is something here.
